Hi all! I stumbled across this site via queenkelina's tumblr and was tempted to join the fun. So, here I am!
About me: I'm 33 and work full time after graduating in December with my doctorate in psychology. I love my work, but it can be challenging, so when I come home fandom is a great escape. I also like to write and make mediocre art, so fandom provides an endless source of inspiration. If you want to check out what I've done, I'm sadladybug on dA, tumblr, Ao3 and ff.net.
I only came across Inuyasha this past January. A friend's wife wouldn't stop talking about it so I felt obligated to check it out. Within a week I was hooked, within two I had ordered all of the DVD's, within two months I had read the manga, within four months I had accumulated a small army of merch, within six Sesshomaru and the gang had made their way onto the walls of my apartment. The moral of this story is that fangirling and a little bit of disposable income are clearly a dangerous combination.
My fave character is Sesshomaru, hands down, because he is ridiculous on so many levels. Also: that hair. I'm obsessed with it. As for ships, I don't have any super strong affiliations, but I like to read older!Rin/Sess, and SessKag (despite its canon defying aspects). This may actually be the only show I watch where I like the canon pairings as well. There aren't any characters I actively dislike - with the exception of Ginkotsu (he's too much of an anachronism and for some reason in a show full of magic and demons his existence pushes beyond the limits of my suspension of disbelief).
Overall, I'm a really good lurker, but a terrible active participant. Partly because I'm busy, and partly because I'm an awkward introvert. Example: I've been a dedicated A:tLA fan for 10 years and the most I've done is post fanart/fanfic but never really interacted meaningfully with anyone. Maybe I can change that this time around.
